Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb steak (or chicken/turkey), cut into bite-size pieces
  • 12 oz medium pasta shells
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • ½ cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

  1. 1. Prepare the pasta: Boil salted water in a large pot, add pasta shells, and cook until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water before draining.
  2. 2. Sear the protein: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and season steak with salt, pepper, and paprika. Sear for about 4-5 minutes until browned; transfer to a plate.
  3. 3. Make the sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté minced garlic for 1 minute. Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until smooth.
  4. 4. Combine: Toss cooked pasta shells in the sauce; add reserved pasta water for desired consistency. Return protein to skillet to heat through.
  5. 5. Serve warm: Garnish with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese.
