  • 1 lb fresh chow mein noodles
  • 2 cups thinly sliced cabbage
  • 1 cup sliced celery
  • 1 small sliced onion
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp regular soy sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup chicken stock or cold water
  • 1/2 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the sauce ingredients and set aside.
  2. Boil water in a large pan and blanch chow mein noodles for 20-30 seconds until loosened.
  3. Drain noodles in a colander without rinsing.
  4. Sauté onions, cabbage, and celery in a large pan with vegetable oil for about 1 minute until softened.
  5. Push veggies aside and add remaining oil; then add noodles and sauce mixture.
  6. Toss everything together until well coated in sauce and serve immediately.
