Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 chicken breasts (about 400g), thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ¼ cup hot chili sauce (like sriracha)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar (white or rice vinegar)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (slurry for thickening)
  • 4 large tortillas or flatbreads
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce or cabbage
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • ½ cucumber, sliced into matchsticks
  • ½ red bell pepper, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together hot chili sauce, honey, vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and minced garlic to create the sauce.
  2. Prepare a cornstarch slurry by mixing cornstarch with water.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat; add sliced chicken seasoned with garlic powder and onion powder. Cook until golden brown.
  4. Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken; simmer for 2–3 minutes before adding the cornstarch slurry to thicken.
  5. Prepare fresh vegetables while the chicken cooks.
  6. Warm tortillas briefly to prevent tearing.
  7. Assemble wraps by layering sauce-coated chicken and vegetables on tortillas then roll tightly.
