  • 1 cup (109 g) finely chopped pecans

  2. In a heavy-bottom saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter and sugar. Cook while stirring consistently until it reaches 285°F (dark amber color), which takes about 35-45 minutes.
  3. Pour the hot mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit for 1-2 minutes before spreading into an even layer.
  4. Sprinkle finely chopped pecans over the melted chocolate and gently press them in.
  5. Allow the toffee to cool undisturbed for about 1 hour until set.
