  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/4 cup boiling water
  • 1 1/2 cups toasted and coarsely chopped pecans
  • 1 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray or use a silicone mat.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine white sugar, brown sugar, and evaporated milk. Stir until completely dissolved.
  3. Insert a candy thermometer and cook while stirring occasionally until the mixture reaches 240°F.
  4. Remove from heat and let cubes of butter sit on top for one minute without stirring. Add pecans and stir continuously until well mixed.
  5. Quickly drop spoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet before the mixture sets.
  6. Allow pralines to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes until fully hardened.
